Dr. White's Bio

Dr. Sarah White-Springer is an Associate Professor of Equine Physiology at Texas A&M University. Upon culmination of her

PhD program at the University of Florida, Dr. White-Springer completed postdoctoral training at the University of Kentucky

studying muscle disease in humans and murine models. Dr. White-Springer now aims to develop and utilize novel technologies to enhance performance and wellbeing in equine athletes through dietary and managerial modulation of skeletal muscle mitochondrial and inflammatory profiles. Relationships developed with the Thoroughbred industry have afforded Dr. White-Springer the opportunity to work with elite racehorses, including a 2022 Kentucky Derby contender! She also serves as the mitochondria expert in collaborative efforts in cattle and swine production and in ovine and murine models of human disease.
