Frank M. Andrews received his D.V.M. and M.S. from Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine. After a year in private practice, Dr. Andrews completed a residency in equine internal medicine at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Andrews joined the faculty at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 1988 as an Assistant Professor of Large Animal Internal Medicine. Dr. Andrews spent 20 years at the University of Tennessee and 13 years ago he relocated to Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine where he is Director of the Equine Health Studies Program (EHSP) and Department Head. Dr. Andrews clinical interest includes diagnosis, treatment and prevention of Equine Protozoal Myeloencephatitis (EPM), a serious neurologic disease affecting horses. Dr. Andrews continues to participate in clinical duty, teaches professional veterinary students and graduate students at LSU School of Veterinary Medicine. He has published over 70 refereed publications and received the LSU Distinguished Scholar Award for his scholarly achievements in research in veterinary medicine. Dr. Andrews also serves on the Morris Animal Foundation Research Advisory Council.
